subject: Tourism In Alappuzha [print this page] Never did I imagine that I would be a granted two weeks leave. I just couldnt believe the sanction email I received from my boss. Even after this mail, I went to him on the last working day to handover all the details. I thanked him for granting me the leave. He replied that since I never took leave for quite a long period he granted me the leave. I was happy that he appreciated my work and has been constantly monitoring my performance. Fourteen days of leave just to visit Alleppey in Gods own country. My train ticket was for the next morning and I still didnt pack my bags. After thanking my boss, I left off to the supermarket to get some essential things for the trip. Many of my friends suggested me to travel to Alappuzha but I never found a better chance before this. This trip was not just Alappuzha tourism but a wedding and leisure trips. My best friend was getting married on Sunday. I was traveling all the way to Alleppey just to attend his wedding. I and other friends decided to even explore Alleppey as we had heard its a paradise out there.
We all were on time and we boarded the train. It was really exciting as it is after a long ten years all of us were traveling again. We were not behaving as professionals but college students coz we were really having a blast in the train. We were sure many would have assumed us to be crack pots as the whole time we were just shouting and having fun with each other. The moment our train entered Kerala, we all were thrilled to witness the greenery. All of us were visiting Kerala first time and although we had heard much about Kerala, seeing it personally was all together a different feeling. Atul, our friend was there in the station to receive us. Our ride from the station to the house was fantastic. Never in my life had I seen such greenery for long time. I thought the ride should definitely be a part of Alappuzha tourism coz such was the beauty of nature that it couldnt be described by words. The marriage was solemnized as per all the rituals and the couples went for their honeymoon. All of us decided to stay in some resorts and decided to find some good place. After learning our plans, Atuls father insisted that we should leave here and his driver would help us with other arrangements. We knew we couldnt make him think otherwise so thanked him and started our Alleppey tour with a personal guide.
The entire trip was awesome and we were really mesmerized by the beauty of Alleppey. We couldnt have seen some of the best spots if it hadnt be our driver. He led us to some of the fascinating spots which are only known to locals and you wouldnt find any tourist at such places. Located right next to the lake, a small shop serves some of the best sea foods along with drinks. Trust me when I say that it was one of the best trips we had in years and would be very memorable for a long time.
