Jaipur, a city popularly known as the Pink City is an important tourist destination and also the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Agra, a city recognised with the Mughal Empire, has earned world fame due to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A popular tourist destination it is located on the banks of river Yamuna in the state of Uttar Pradesh, 200 km to the south of Delhi. The economy is dependent on tourism and is also popular for leather and footwear business. The other heritage sites in Agra are the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.

Jaipur to Agra is well connected by the road and rail routes.

Agra is located at a distance of 239 km from Jaipur. From Jaipur one has to drive along the NH11 via Dausa, Mahwa and Bharatpur to reach Agra. The journey from Jaipur to Agra by road takes almost 5 hours.

Being a National Highway the driving conditions are quite good and one can find several ATMs and rest stops on the way. Besides eating joints, there are various dhabas which serve traditional Rajasthani and Mughlai food.

A large number of buses of the RSRTC (state transport) and other private operators conduct services from Jaipur to Agra. There are a variety of buses to choose from like the Ordinary, Express (AC and non AC), Semi deluxe, Deluxe and Volvo. The journey from Jaipur to Agra by bus takes about 5 hours and the fare ranges from Rs 190 to Rs 350 depending upon the type of bus.

There are also many private taxi services from Jaipur to Agra and the cost of a round trip starts from Rs 4000 upwards.

Trains from Jaipur to Agra are faster, economical and more comfortable and the journey takes only 4 hours. The Jodhpur Howrah Superfast Express (12308) departs from Jaipur at 02.20 hours and reaches Agra at 06.15 hours. The Ahmedabad Agra Triweekly Express (12548) leaves Jaipur station at 04.05 hours and reaches Agra at 08.10 hours. The Barmar Guwahati Biweekly (15631) departs from Jaipur at 09.10 hours and arrives at Jaipur at 13.05 hours. There are also other passenger trains, Superfast trains from Jaipur to Agra the list of which is easily available on the internet. The train fare ranges from Rs 200 for a sleeper ticket to Rs 600 for an AC ticket.
