Aga Khan Palace, where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned for participating in the Quit India Movement in 1942, is a major tourist attraction in the city.

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Shaniwar Wada, Sinhgad Fort, Saras Baug (a park), Sadhu Vaasvani Mission, Pataleshwar Cave Temple, Shrimant Dagduseth Halwai Ganapati Temple, Osho Park and Katraj Jain Temple are among the other star attractions in Pune.

Pune is well connected with Hyderabad by air, rail and road. Major airlines line, Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, JetLite, IndiGo and SpiceJet Airlines have regular flights from Hyderabad to Pune. The direct flights take nearly one hour and 15 minutes to reach the destination.

There are three daily direct trains from Hyderabad to Pune. They are Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express No.11020, Hyderabad-Mumbai Hussain Sagar Express No.12702 and Hyderabad-Mumbai Express No.17032. Secunderabad-Pune Shatabdi Express No.12026 runs on all the days of the week except on Tuesdays.

Besides, there are a few trains which run on certain days of the week. They are (with the days of operation in brackets) Kakinada Town-Bhavnagar Express No.17204 (Thursdays), Secunderabad-Rajkot Express No.17018 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays), Visakhapatnam-Lokmanya Tilak Express No.12749 (Wednesdays, Saturdays) and Bhubaneswar-Pune Express (Tuesdays). Trains take about13 hours to 15 hours to travel from Hyderabad (Secunderabad) to Pune.

Travel by road is also popular. Buses are available in plenty in this route. The fare for the bus ranges from Rs.500 to Rs.900 depending on the type of vehicle. Cabs also are available to travel from Hyderabad to Pune. The rate for the taxi ranges from Rs.12 to Rs.25 per kilometre depending on the type of vehicle the travellers hire. The road route passes mainly through NH7 and NH9. The road route passes through (with the distance from Hyderabad to Pune in brackets) Sadasivpet (64 km), Zahirabad (102 km), Homnabad (155 km), Umarga (213 km), Solapur (296 km), Indapur (405 km) and Pune (544 km).
