Hyderabad is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It lies on the banks of the Musi River on the Deccan Plateau in southern India. Mumbai, also known as Bombay, is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It got its name from the goddess Mumbadevi. It lies on the west coast of India and has a name "Alpha world city" in 2009. It is the most populous city in India and the fourth most in the world.

Hyderabad is located at a distance of 621.41 km and is well connected to Mumbai by rail, road and air. However, the best way to reach from Hyderabad to Mumbai is by Train. Many express trains ply from Hyderabad to Mumbai covering the distance approximately in 13 to 14 hours. The major stations covered during the journey Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Basar, H Sahib Nanded, Purna Jn, Parbhani, Aurangabad, Manmad, Nasik Road, Igatpuri, Kalyan, Thane, Dadar and Mumbai Cst. Both Hyderabad and Mumbai have two stations each and they are Hyderabad Decan (HYB) and Secunderabad Jn. and Mumbai Cst (CSTM) and Lokmanyatilak T (LTT) respectively. Timings of express trains from Hyderabad to Mumbai are Konkan Express departs from Secunderabad Jn at 11.45 am and arrives at 3.55 am at Mumbai Cst. Devagiri Express departs from Secunderabad Jn at 1.35 pm and arrives at 7.10 am at Mumbai Cst. Hussainsagar Exp. departs from Hyderabad Decan at 2.45 pm and arrives at 5.5 am at Mumbai Cst. Mumbai Exp. departs from Hyderabad Decan at 8.40 pm and arrives at 1.05 pm at Mumbai Cst. Vskp Ltt Express departs from secunderabad Jn. at 9.10 pm and arrives at 11.05 am at Lokamanya T station. Vskp Ltt Express is available only on Wednesdays and Saturdays whereas other trains are available on all days.

Private and state government run various types of buses such as A/C, Non-A/C and sleeper coach from Hyderabad to Mumbai which take around 11 hours and costs from Rs. 700 to Rs. 950 per seat. Private bus costs from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1500 depending on the type of bus. You can also hire taxis and they charge Rs. 12 to Rs. 35 per km depending on the cab.

Hyderabad is connected to Mumbai by many airlines including Jet Airways, Air India and Indigo airlines. The air fare is economical and affordable. It takes around 1 hour 29 minutes to reach from Hyderabad to Mumbai and fares are around Rs. 2300 to Rs. 5000 for each.
