Introduction to decimals:

In mathematics, ten as it base is as called system of decimals numbers. The natural numbers using the base-10 numeral system specified as decimal notation. A dot with a decimal number, like to present in 41.654.

Decimals numbers are used in arithmetic operations. One of the arithmetic operations is multiplying. Generally multiply is scaling a number by another by using multiplication. In the topic, we are going to discuss about multiplying two decimals.

Examples Problem for Multiplying Two Decimals:

1. Multiply the two decimals given numbers are, 0.04 by 2.2.

Solution:

Given decimals numbers are, 0.04 'xx' 2.2,

= 0.04 'xx' 2.2

Multiply the numbers without decimal points,

Then we get the value is,

= 4 'xx' 22

= 88

In this problem, 0.04 has 2(two) decimal points and 2.2 has 1(one) decimal points,

So, given multiplying two decimals answer has 3(three) decimal places,

= 0.088

Answer is 0.088.

2. Multiply the two decimals given numbers are, 0.12 by 4.5.

Solution:

Given decimals numbers are, 0.12 'xx' 4.5,

= 0.12 'xx' 4.5

Multiply the numbers without decimal points,

Then we get the value is,

= 12 'xx' 45

= 540

In this problem, 0.12 has 2(two) decimal points and 4.5 has 1(one) decimal points,

So, given multiplying two decimals answer has 3(three) decimal places,

= 0.540

Answer is 0.540.

3. Multiply the two decimals given numbers are, 1.23 by 3.6.

Solution:

Given decimals numbers are, 1.23 'xx' 3.6,

= 1.23 'xx' 3.6

Multiply the numbers without decimal points,

Then we get the value is,

= 123 'xx' 36

= 4428

In this problem, 1.23 has 2(two) decimal points and 3.6 has 1(one) decimal points,

So, given multiplying two decimals answer has 3(three) decimal places,

= 4.428

Answer is 4.428.

4. Multiply the two decimals given numbers are, 3.45 by 8.56.

Solution:

Given decimals numbers are, 3.45 'xx' 8.56,

= 3.45 'xx' 8.56

Multiply the numbers without decimal points,

Then we get the value is,

= 345 'xx' 856

= 295320

In this problem, 3.45 has 2(two) decimal points and 8.56 has 2(two) decimal points,

So, given multiplying two decimals answer has 4(four) decimal places,

= 29.5320

Answer is 29.5320.
