The 5.2 MWe generator sets will each be used to power the oilextraction plant at the site and will be powered by associated gasfrom the oil production process, significantly reducing quantities ofgas flared at site.

This is a significant order for Centrax because it is for animportant new customer in Russia."said Regional Sales Manager Nick Royal. He added: It will further develop our position in the Russianmarket, establishing an expanded customer base for ourproducts.

Working closely with St Petersburg basedengineering contractor, Zvezda Energetika, Centrax were selected for the project because itoffered competitive delivery and installation time and, importantly, have proven equipmentat similar installations in Russia with other oil companies such as TNK-BP.

The end user for the equipment will be Nobel Holdings, a privatelyownedoil and gas exploration company. Nobel Oil require theequipment in order to achieve new targets forreduced flaring which come into effect in Russia atthe start of 2013.

In addition to this latest order, Centrax' StPetersburg service centre is preparing for its busiestyear yet in 2013, with installation andcommissioning scheduled imminently for 17 newCX501-KB7 gas turbine packages at TNK-BP's UstTegusskoe and Verhnekolikieganskoe oilproduction facilities in Siberia.

Centrax manufacture gas turbine power generation packages ranging from 3.9 MW to 64.0 MW for both the Industrial and Oil & Gas energy markets.

The prime application for Centrax gas turbine units is Combined Heat & Power (CHP) / Cogeneration in a wide range of industries. In this configuration heat recovery from the gas turbine exhaust can improve the overall plant efficiency to more than 85%.

The generator sets are based on Rolls-Royce 501, RB211 and Trent 60 gas turbines as well as Siemens 300 and 400 gas turbines for the industrial cogeneration market. As well as CHP / Cogeneration plants, Centrax base load and stand-by packages are also in wide use throughout the world.

Barge-mounted power generation solutions are also available from Centrax for use in a broad range of commercial applications, including temporary or emergency power supplies.

Power generation packages are available for a wide range of environmental and ambient conditions. The Centrax gas turbine package is designed to operate in the harshest of conditions including very low temperatures (below -50C).

This latest order brings the total number of Centrax units in Russia to 33.
