One of the important sources of carbon dioxide emission is the industry. Industries normally the thermal power plants use lot of coal. Coal is a form of carbon which when oxidized gives carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere.
One of the important ways to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions is to use alternate power sources. Use of hydroelectric power and nuclear power stations are one of the important ways to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions. The emissions can be controlled when the coal burning is stopped.
Other important sources are the burning of the organic waste which emits a large amount of the carbon dioxide.

Vehicular emission of carbon dioxide is one of the important sources of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is produced from the internal combustion engine when the petrol or diesel is burning in the presence of air. The carbon dioxide finds its way to the atmosphere thus act as green house gases. One of the important ways to reduce the emission is to use the mass Rapid transport systems which carry lot of people and the use of the individual vehicles should be discouraged. Use of battery operated vehicles and Cycles which involve manual energy is also to be encouraged.
