Most hobby photographers love doing landscape photography. Although it sounds easy, as you dont have to prepare your model and do a lot of lighting arrangements, shooting stunning landscapes need a lot of patience and accuracy. All the cutting-edge equipments such as tripods and monopods, digital camera, wide angle lens, etc. will be useless unless you know the basics of this form of photography. Moreover, in landscape photography, exposures have to be between 1/250s to a minute. A tripod will therefore, be indispensable for you. If you cannot use a tripod, rest your camera on a solid surface that will provide good support to it.

Even if you are using a tripod, when you are at an unstable location, chances are there that it becomes unstable when you press the shutter. This makes shutter release cables an essential part of landscape photography.

Follow the rule of thirds

First, choose a subject; a tree, a hill, the sun, birds, etc. anything that you want to be the focus of your story can become your subject. This will help you to achieve a balanced composition in your photograph and make it easier for you to click a perfect picture.

Identify the story behind Your Picture

Unlike any fashion photograph, landscape photography is renowned to convey a story apart from reflecting the beauty of the nature. Rather than taking a meaningless photo, try to convey a message in your picture. Create an amazing story that your viewers would be interested in. This way, you will be able to make your photography more interesting.

Keep learning and experimenting

Learning is an important process of any profession and the same hold true for a landscape photographer. Keep analyzing the pictures taken by other photographers and if possible, seek their opinion. This way, you will be able to understand the improvement areas. Experimentation is the key to improvement and the more you explore your equipments like tripods and monopods and camera settings, the better will be your photographs.

Apart from all these, hard work and dedication will help you become a good landscape photographer.
