subject: Sand Dust Test Chamber Manufacturers India [print this page]

The Sand Dust Test Chambers are environmental chambers used for testing of products in extremely dry and dusty, desert like environments. They are most commonly employed for testing of automotive and electronics parts and components and help in determining their quality and manufacturing defects. They work by exposing the sample specimen to concentrated levels of dust for specific periods of time. These tests help in determining the quality of the products and their seal integrity.

The equipment is available in a wide variety of sizes and configurations including small portable units as well as larger walk-in chambers. Each unit is designed to meet the requirements of some common test methods, with the use of approved dust types. They are usually available in a chest configuration, with a top opening lid that allows easy placement of the sample specimen. Alternatively, the equipment can also feature a full-opening front loading door that provides complete access to the samples for easy control. The unit is provided with an adjustable stainless steel shelf that can be placed at an adequate height from the floor and holds up to 100 pounds. The sand dust test chambers use powerful blowers for blowing pulses of compressed air at adequate concentrations through a manifold ideally located at the bottom of the stainless steel shelf. The dust particles are blown at adequate air pressures and can be easily programmed to switch on or off as per the requirements. The blowers blow the finely powdered dust intermittently over the sample specimen which then settles down over the product, covering it completely.

The Sand Dust Test Chambers are made up of high quality construction materials and feature sturdy, non-magnetic stainless steel interiors. They come equipped with coalescing and particulate filters that help in maintaining the quality of the dust particles entering the chamber. The test chambers may also be provided with cleanable filters for the exhaust.

The sand dust test chambers may also come equipped with access ports and viewing windows for ease of monitoring. Most of the models also feature a calibrated hopper that helps in maintaining adequate amounts of dust, sand and air within the chamber for optimized operation. In addition to this, some sophisticated models may also use an electronic beam for estimating the quantity of dust and sand within the chamber, allowing real time analysis and facilitating adjustments as and when required.

The sand dust test chambers are provided with adequate shelves for segregation of samples and may also come equipped with test fixture support rails that help in holding the sample in place. The unit may also be provided with interior lights with switch for adequate illumination. The equipment also features digital timers that help in maintaining the time of operation. Most of the available models of sand dust test chambers are also provided with humidity control, wind speed control, temperature control, dust concentration control and their respective display units and an automatic dry air handling system. The advanced models may also feature a data monitoring and recording unit that allows easy access to the recorded data, even for future use.
