One of the long standing footwear in history is cowboy boots. Do you know that in every shoe, there is a mysterious beginning for them? What do you think when you see a pair of vintage boots? Unraveling the past, this pair has its legends rooted in the American West history.

For sure, people born in the era of 50s have their own pair of cowboy boots. It was said that it can be traced from Genghis Khan who wore astonishing red boots with wooden heels. It was then followed by riding boots, high tops and stacked heels in the 17th to 18th century. In 1815, Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington gave his name to a calf-length boots with a low heel and named it as Wellington.

It was then made for mass production. This is the same type of footwear that soldiers wore during the US civil war. The following years, the period of cowboy heightened that gave birth to the cowboy boots that we recognize today.

Through time, many manufacturers have revolutionized and offered different styles of boots that are available today. Some of them are handmade boots while some are commercialized:

Biker: From the word this footwear is made for motorcyclists. These are strong tall boots that offer protection from fall and crash incident as well as to avoid burning of their legs from the hot pipes. It comes in varieties of Motocross, Engineer, Harness and Police Patrol.

Campus-Vintage Frye: This style is one of the most popular and favorite shoes of both men and women. This style owes a unique shaft height, style, looks, color and their affordability makes them so famous.

Engineer: They are motorcycle boot that are designed with heavyweight black leather, round toe and has height that range from 10 to 38. They often have adjustable strap around the ankle and top of the shaft for customized fitting.

Firefighter: They are made under certain standards to meet protection against elements of water and fire when they are doing their work. Standards include electrical hazard protection, sole puncture resistance and impact protection.

Civil War Cavalry Boots: They are usually black, tall and have a pull-on. They have smooth leather soles and are knee-high that have pull straps for easy attachment. They are excellent when riding a horse.

Cowboy (Western) Boots: They are the shoes that are worn by the cowboys. They have angled heel over 1 high, smooth leather soles and pointed toes. The shafts range to 12 or higher, but the most common is 13.

Combat: They are worn by soldiers during combat or training. They are perfect for this application as they have the right blend of ankle stability, grip and foot protection even in adverse situations. Other types include tanker, jump, jungle, dessert and cold weather boots.

Dress: They are known as Men Dress Bootsand come in different styles from various manufacturers. They are not worn for certain use, but are worn for their style.
