subject: 3 Of The Top Places To Visit In St Lucia [print this page]

Are you planning a luxury break in the Caribbean? Perhaps staying in a luxury hotel like Cap Maison? St Lucia is one of the best places you can go if you are planning a luxury tropical Caribbean holiday. The Caribbean is a fantastic area of the world no matter where you go, but this island seems to almost have an unfair amount of attractions!

Here are just three of the top places you should include on the itinerary during your time here.

1. Pigeon Island

Pigeon Island is one of the top attractions you will be recommended to see by the staff of your luxury hotel, such as Cap Maison. St Lucia has myriad beautiful natural places to explore, but the insider tip is that Pigeon Island is certainly one of the best.

Located in the north, although it is called an island you can actually reach it by walking across a causeway. It is a natural park, and as such you will have to pay a fee to visit, but it is well worth it for an interesting day out. On the island you will find Fort Rodney, which dates back to the 18th century. There are also some historical barracks to visit, and plenty of other things to see and do all of which provide ample photo opportunities. There is even a restaurant on the island if you want to enjoy a bite to eat before heading back.

2. Castries

As the largest town on the island there is a good chance that you will want to visit Castries at some point if youre lucky enough to be staying at Cap Maison. St Lucia is dotted with many quaint and picturesque towns, but Castries is one of the most interesting. Some of the attractions here include the City Library, Fort Charlotte, and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. You may also want to relax on one of the gorgeous beaches located nearby, such as Vigie Beach or Choc Beach.

3. Soufriere Volcano

If you want to ramp up the pace and do something really exciting, make sure you visit Soufriere Volcano at some point during your holiday. It is a dormant volcano but it will feel very much active when you get up close and see the bubbling mud and steam!

A beautiful sight due to the fantastic colours created by all of the compounds in the earth, if you want you can get even closer by braving a dip in the warm waters, which some claim to have therapeutic properties.

These are just a few of the places you will have the opportunity to visit when you stay in a well placed resort in the Caribbean such as Cap Maison. St Lucia has plenty more hidden and well known attractions awaiting discovery your only dilemma will be deciding which to do first.
