subject: Getting Started On Facebook For Dentists [print this page]

Over 900 million people are using FacebookOver 900 million people are using Facebook. Your patients, your employees, your friends, and your practice definitely needs to be as well. Thats what brought you to Easy Social Practice in the first place you understand the need to embrace social media. If you dont have an existing Facebook page for your practice (not a personal page, a business page theyre different!) well walk you through getting starting.

1.Facebook dot com slash business is the place you can register. Theres a button to get started, and on the next page, registration. The category you want to choose is Local Business or Place.

2.Youll be presented with the registration information, including your type of business, business name, address, and a box to show you agree to the Facebook Pages terms.

3.Then youll choose a profile picture. We suggest using a professional headshot of yourself that you use in your dental advertising, if you have a current one. Some practices use their logos, as well.

4.Youll fill out the About information. Always mention that you are accepting new patients. Be as specific as possible when you fill this information out about the practice.

5.Next, youll be prompted to choose the Facebook Web Address for the practice. Try to keep this as close as you can to the practice name. This is an important step. Once the address is chosen, youre stuck.

6.After that, youll go to the Admin Panel. When youre there, you can easily see if you have new notifications, youll see your insights, and more.

7.Pick a great cover picture preferably one that shows the whole staff. This gives the practice a face.

8.Go to your account settings and update all the information you can, including hours, services, etc. This will help patients get to know you.

9.Link your account to EasySocialPractice dot com and you can start scheduling updates and watching your likes grow.

When first getting started on Facebook, we recommend asking everyone in your existing social circle to like your page so you can build enough followers to enable certain features only for vetted users. Make an announcement flyer and post it, framed, in reception, asking your patients to like your page. Sending out an emailed newsletter with a link is also a great idea. Also, when you build some posting history, photo albums, consider investing in a Facebook ad. Let Easy Social Practice help.
