subject: Experiences To Try On World Hello Day [print this page]

The clocks have gone backThe clocks have gone back. The weather has taken a definite turn for the worse and the stress of finding the ultimate Christmas gift experiences is already weighing on most peoples minds. Lets not beat around the bush and face the facts that November is a tough old month. We welcome any opportunity to spread a touch of winter cheer. And opportunities dont come much more sociable than World Hello Day.

Never heard of it? World Hello Day is celebrated every year on Nov. 21 and was established back in 1973 by Brian and Michael McCormack. The event was set up in response to the Yom Kippur conflict between Egypt and Israel and since its creation, World Hello Day has been observed by people in 180 different countries.

Hello, is it me youre looking for?

This year is the 39th annual World Hello Day. Its an opportunity for people across the globe to show their concern and desire for world peace through non-confrontational means. Its a chance to acknowledge the personal power we each have as individuals to help preserve world peace and make a real difference. Since 1973 many people have taken part, including 31 winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. Why not add your name to the list? Give the gift of a heartfelt greeting to someone in your community; its a much more lasting present than the perfume set you got on a three for two at Boots.

You say hello

The objective of World Hello Day is pretty simple and its easy to get involved. All you have to do to show your support is to say hello to at least 10 new people on Nov. 21st. The idea is that by greeting others you are sending a message to world leaders to use communication rather than violence to settle conflicts.

Give peace a chance

Diamond ring, driving lessons or European city break? If youre stuck for memorable birthday ideas for her, put away your wallet and tell her youre out changing the way governments resolve conflict and making the world a better place for future generations. Shell be chuffed to bits.

Find inner peace

Inner peace. Two simple words that describe a concept that is almost impossible to achieve in this hectic world. This World Hello Day make your own move for peace by engaging in an activity that helps you reconnect with yourself. It could be yoga, it could be cake decorating, it could be a holistic facial. Or you could share the love with peaceful gift experiences for family and friends. Forget abseiling and adrenalin driving crash-courses. Think massage, mind-enhancing courses and life-affirming experiences.
