However, one thing should be kept in mind that the cars should not touch each other at all. Depending upon the distance between the cars, the length of the jumper cables should be chosen.
Set up - All the electrical connections of the cars should be immediately turned off. The music systems, the pen drive, the air conditioning - everything should be switched off. It is necessary because when the jump starting process is carried out, there would be an instant surge of energy which may harm the systems of the car.
Connection- it is one of the most important steps. The connection has to be correct; otherwise it may lead to short circuit. Firstly, the positive end of the dead battery should be connected to the positive end of the charged battery of the other car, through a jumper cable. Same thing need to be done with the negative end of the dead battery.
Final step- once the connections are done, an individual should start the engine of the other car having the charged battery installed in it. Once started, they should leave it running for about 5 minutes and then try starting the car having the dead battery. The car should start in the very first attempt itself. In case, it doesnt, you do not have to worry at all and should again give it a try after few minutes.
Disconnections- when the car turns on after all such efforts keep it running for few minutes may be for 10 minutes and then disconnect the jumper cable by following the above steps in reverse order.
