subject: What Is A Smart Tv? - The Era Of Integrated Entertainment [print this page]

The televisions market has changed so much that if you ask an average buyer about the latest smart TV, chances are that he will be confused, unsure and unable to tell any difference between a big bellied television and a slim smart TV.

Stop by any electronics shop in your neighbourhood and there will be no dearth of smart TVs on display, but you could walk past a huge crowd of shiny pieces and yet fail to understand why you ever need to buy a smart TV.

Since Charles Francis Jenkins invented the first TV, not much had changed, perhaps a few things have been added or removed in all the years until recently. There was not any apparent improvements except for the size of the screen and the audio quality. Buyers were not concerned what they got with the television unless the screen was huge and sound was loud enough to annoy a few neighbors. But in just the last decade a plenty has swung in favor of smart TVs.

It is really amazing that it took innovators just a few years to improve the home entertainment scenario. What is more amazing is that they did nothing new except for integrating things together and bringing everything together inside one smart TV. The credibility of a smart TV can be appreciated only when one sets eye on it.

A smart TV is essentially the harmonization of experiences that the modern user has come to expect of their online devices. There is no doubt that most hand held device these days are great connectivity tools. These devices let people tap into their online lives, talk and share their moments with people on the internet and talk with anybody they choose to.

Think of a smart TV as an upgrade of that mobile connected experience in a large screen with all the great services of the television! Hats off to engineers, now you dont need to visit video rental stores. A smart TV allows you to download movies bought online and store them offline in storage disks at home. Remember those days when you had to keep a track of the latest movies, not anymore. We are not just talking about movies, a smart TV lets you stream live videos, play games, get on Facebook and Twitter and make long distance VOIP calls with a smart TV.

Even with all these converged into one smartTV, the thirst for better services and smart experiences. Interestingly enough, a lot has happened since the first smart TV appeared in the market. Manufacturers, such as LG Corp. has an outstanding lineup of smart televisions that are worth taking a look.
