subject: Vancouver Hotels Downtown Span Wide Price Range [print this page]

Vancouver is a port city that welcomes guests and newcomers to its multicultural setting. Vancouver hotels downtown abound and span the price range from under fifty dollars a night to several hundred for a luxury hotel.

Before you select a hotel, you need to figure out what you want to see of Vancouvers tourist attractions and how much you have budgeted for a hotel.

The Best Western Plus is one of the five least expensive hotels in downtown Vancouver. Located at Drake Street, this budget hotel features free Wi-Fi and is on the direct route for drop off of the free shuttle service to downtown sites. Thus, a guest could see a good part of the city by walking or hopping aboard the shuttle. The Best Western guests were impressed with the friendly helpful staff and access to so much of Vancouver for free. Some complained about the noise but after all, this is downtown.

Renting at under fifty dollars a night another popular budget hotel is Robson Streets Barclay. Guests are pleased with the accommodations at the rate they are paying. Free Wi-Fi, clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff were all praised by those who stayed at the Barclay. Guests complained that the street was noisy and there was no elevator.

If you want something a little nicer but not breaking the vacation bank you might select a middle-priced hotel like The Best Western Chateau Granville. Rooms rent under a hundred dollars. This downtown Vancouver hotel is located on Granville Avenue, near tourist sites. Rooms are attractive and offer free Wi-Fi, free a newspaper, and free local calls. Food is reasonable and appetizing and the service is good.

If cost is not a consideration you might wish to stay at the Fairmount. Located on West Georgia Street, this stately old hotel offers a spectacular view of the coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean as well as views of Vancouvers skyline. Dubbed Vancouvers Castle Hotel, the Fairmount provides several fine dining rooms as well as access to the night club and theatre districts of the city. If you want the full Fairmount experience, you can stay on the Gold Floor which offers continental breakfast and complimentary afternoon tea canapes.

Another pampering experience awaits you at BC Four Seasons. This hotel also boasts a spectacular view of the mountains, the Pacific, and the city skyline. The Four Seasons is conveniently located for shopping and entertainment. The ballrooms have been the site of several newsworthy weddings. Beautiful rooms and family and childrens programs are designed for pleasant stays. Be sure to register your kids for the childrens amenities packages which list of daily kids programs.

No matter what your Vancouver hotels budget, the city offers available accommodations and lots to see and do.
