Common troubleshooting methods for hammer mill

The hammer crusher main working parts is the rotor with a hammer. Rotor is composed by the spindle, disk, pin and hammer. The motor drives the rotor do the high-speed rotation in the crushing cavity. Materials get into the machine from the upper inlet, and are crushed by the impact, shearing, grinding and crushing role of high-speed movement of a hammer blow. In the lower part of the rotor, it is equipped with sieve plate, crushed material that smaller than the mesh size fractions is discharged through the sieve and coarse material larger than the mesh size sieve is continue to be blow and sheared by the hammer, and finally through sieve discharged outside the machine.

Hammer mill failure and exclusion:

1, reduced production

Reason: sieve gap blockage; uneven feeding.

Remedy: Parking, clean sieve blockages gap; adjust the feed mechanism.

2, the elastic coupling produce percussion

Reason: the pin loose; elastic ring wear;

Remedy: Parking and tighten the pivot nut; replace the elastic ring.

3, the machine internally generates percussion

Reasons: non-broken material into the inside of the machine; liner fasteners relaxation, hammer impact liner; hammer or other parts fracture.

Exclude Method: parking, clean up the crushing chamber; check the gap between lining fastening and hammer and screen bars; replace broken parts.

4, bearing overheating

Reasons: lack of grease; excess grease; filth degenerates grease; bearing damage.

Remedy: filling the proper amount of grease; 50% of the bearing within greases its space volume; cleaning bearings; replacement of grease; replace the bearings.

5, the particle size is too large

Reason: too big hammer wear; sieve article fracture.

Remedy: replace the hammer; replace Article sieve.

6, machine vibration

Reasons: replace the hammer or cone wear so the rotor static equilibrium is undesirable; hammer broken and lose rotor balance; pin bends and breaks; the triangular disk or disc cracks; anchor bolts loose.

Remedy: remove the hammer, choose hammerhead according to weight, , so that total weight of each hammer is equal to the total weight of that static balance to meet the requirements; replace the hammer; replace the pin; welding repair or replacement; fastening anchor bolts.
