subject: 2013 Giant Xtc Composite 29er 2 [print this page]

Following on from Giants success in 2012 with the debut of the Giant XTC Composite 29er 0, the brand has decided to launch 2 more models in 2013. The 2013 Giant XTC Composite 29er 2 uses the identical race winning frame to that offered in 2012. The key features that have created such an exceptional frame remain the same; Over Drive head tube for steering precision, Mega Drive down tube and Power Core bottom bracket for pedalling efficiency. The bike is aimed at the rider wanting to take mountain biking and their skills to the next level from a basic recreational platform.

If you havent heard of or experienced 29er mountain bikes, then a brief explanation is in order. The world of 29er mountain bikes have been around for a while, but its only in the last few years that engineers and riders have perfected the geometry and fine tuned the feel of these bikes. The growth and sales of 29er mountain bikes have been the driving force behind brands to expand their range. The reason why 29ers have experienced such growth is due to the many benefits of this wheel size; increased control, high top speed, reduced rolling angle over obstacles due to larger wheel size and controllable torque through the cranks, especially when climbing. The only negative is the lack of agility on a 29er mountain bike however this is where a brands technical experience plays a large part in influencing its design. Some 29ers, when designed with diligence, will have a similar agility to a 26-inch mountain bike with all the advantage that go with a 29er.

For 2013, the XTC Composite 29er 2 uses a SRAM and Rock Shox build kit. The drive train consists of SRAM X7 and X9 components, and offers a 2 x10 gearing option which seems to be a popular gearing setup with todays 29ers. The Rock Shox air fork is light, responsive and offers all the important adjustment that are necessary for tuning the suspension to feel right including, pressure adjustment, rebound and remote lockout.

Giants constant research and development testing, feedback from Giants racing teams, years of carbon fibre manufacturing and strict quality assurance processes gives our customers one of the best value 29er mountain bikes on the market.
