The producer of the show Sara Collection announced eighth season would be the last season and the show will end after this.

Debra continues her attempt to cure Dexter and get him get rid of his killing ways. But Louis, enemy of Dexter keeps on troubling him. LaGuerta, seeks help of Batista to re-open the case. Debra is made the target and to save his sister, Dexter plans a game of cat and mouse. Other way, Ukrainian mob continues to seek revenge from Dexter.
The recent fifth episode Swim Deep was broadcasted on 28 October, 2012. Dexter attempts to uncover the secret of murder on his boat. Now the actual battle between Dexter and Ukraine mob boss Isaac has begun. Two murderous minds are trying to defeat each other.
