Goa indeed is a beautiful state that India is blessed to have. India can boast off the natural scenic beauty present here. It is the attractions here that make Goa a beautiful and a memorable place. To many people abroad India comes to recognition through Goa. In some situations Goa does becomes a synonym for India. Goa Tourism has lot to offer their visitors who come to Goa from various parts of the world.

Definitely there is much more that Goa offers to us. There are some famous historical places to visit in Goa. These historical places are located in the interiors of Goa. They enhance the architectural pride of Goa. These are the 5 forts of Goa. To start with is the:

Chapora Fort- This fort indeed is a tourist destination and one spot chosen by the Bollywood for shooting movies. Since then this fort is become one of the famous tourist attraction. The fort has great scenic location as it is located on a cliff and gives a great overview to the sea. Therefore the remains around the Goa and the Portuguese outlook give it a historical touch.

Aguada Fort- The meaning of Aguada in Portuguese language means water. This fort has been noted to be the largest Portuguese fort in Goa.

Terekhol Fort or Tiracol Fort- This is not that popular a fort but still has a great historical importance attached to it. This fort belonged to a local king. This fort was used to by the freedom fighters to liberate Goa.

Cape Rama Fort- This fort is located on the southern coast of Goa. The fort originally belonged to the Hindu locals. But eventually in the later run it was captured by the Portuguese. The church inside the fort is visited by many tourists and localities. There are also stories regarding the fort which say that lord Rama took shelter here with his wife Sita during his 14 year exile.

Alorna Fort or Halarn Fort- This fort is located in the village of Alorna. It has great historical importance attached to it.

Apart from these five forts there are number of beaches like Anjuna beach, Baga beach, Calangute beach, Candolim beach, Chapora beach, Colva beach, etc. Goa is also famous for its gothic like churches which call for the tourists from all over the world. They really are the point of attraction by the people visiting Goa during there holidays, Christmas, and also New Years Eve.
