A long-term vacation is something that many of us dream about and plan to do when we retire. Many people are able to take a long-term vacation earlier than they thought because they are able to work anywhere in the world, due to their job, or because they have saved up holiday and agreed it with the company that they work for. Here are some of the best destinations for a long-term vacation.

Europe

Europe has great transport links, which makes exploring it easy and great fun. You could wake up one morning in France and go to bed that night in Spain if thats what you felt like doing. Europe has some fantastic culture, history, food and wine so there will be no problem finding things to do and places to go. Anyone who is worried that they may get bored on a long-term vacation should look to spending it in Europe. The only worry you will have is that you will need longer to see all it has to offer.

America

America is a vast country that has a lot to offer anyone on a long-term vacation. Hiring a mobile home and driving to the places that you want to go is a fantastic way to see all that this fascinating country has to offer. Fuel is cheaper in America so it is not hard on the budget and America also has many dedicated trailer parks that you can park in for a night or a few days. These often have power hook ups and allow you to top up your water supply and empty your bathroom tanks and they are very inexpensive. America is the country of extremes and you will be able to experience everything from surfing to skiing depending on where your route takes you.

Australia and New Zealand

These neighbouring countries have much for travellers on a long-term vacation to see and do. Australia is a vast country that has everything from large, cosmopolitan cities to tiny fishing towns and you are always guaranteed great weather and friendly people. New Zealand has two islands one of which is more like a rain forest. Again the people are amazingly friendly and you can stay in a bustling city for a while before moving to a beach side hotel. There are loads of things to do and see in these countries.

The Far East

Thailand is a popular destination for a long-term vacation and many people travel on from there to explore Bali, Japan, Bangkok and Vietnam. Once you get to the Far East it is cheap for food and accommodation and the travel links are efficient and run regularly. The Far East is well known for its night life and there is also plenty to see and explore during the day time. Food here is mouthwateringly good and there is a wide variety of choice. With lots of history and culture to explore and some great beach resorts to relax in, you can see why people enjoy taking their long-term vacation here.
