According to the lawsuit filed by the unsafe drug attorney for Richard Armiger, a resident of New Jersey within three months of taking the drug the plaintiff suffered severe gastrointestinal bleeding and other psychological traumas. Meanwhile, the plaintiff and his Pradaxa attorney framed the charges of negligence, concealment of research data, and inability of informing patients about the potential side effects.
The medication lawsuit alleging Pradaxa side effects was filed on June 21, 2012 in New Jersey however, to streamline the judicial processes and consolidate various other cases pertaining to the drug the case was transferred to the Multilitigation Litigation Court (MDL) situated in the U.S. District court, Southern District of Illinois.
According to the lawsuit the plaintiff in the case Richard Armiger, took Pradaxa to treat atrial fibrillation as prescribed by his doctor. However, the anticoagulant responded differently in his body and lead to severe gastrointestinal bleeding. The plaintiff was then admitted to the hospital and received blood transfusions and other procedures to stop the bleeding.

The drug Pradaxa manufactured by the pharmaceutical giant Boehringer Ingelheim is a blood thinner or commonly called as anticoagulant from the class of the direct thrombin inhibitors used for various clinical indications. The drug was widely recognized and considered as an effective alternative to Warfarin.

This is not for the first time that the pharmaceutical giant is facing a lawsuit over its blood- thinning drug Pradaxa. The list is a long one where plaintiff and victims either have reported adverse effects of Pradaxa and/or are litigating over the drug. Lots of cases are being witnessed by the Multi Litigation Court of Illinois over the mentioned drug that was formed on August 8, 2012. The drug is yet to be recalled by the manufacturer officially or through a proper order by the United States Food and drug Administration.
