subject: My Boring Business Trip Turned Out Fun! [print this page]

There are times when you dont want to leave home or your comfort zone but are compelled to do so due to your work. I was in a similar situation at a point of time. I had to go to Delhi for a business trip for a week and trust me I didnt want to go considering the heat and the fast life there since I come from a cold small town. I was pretty nervous and apprehensive as the final day was nearing.

So the day finally comes when I had to take a flight to Delhi. I was wondering what the hotels in Delhi would be like. Would they be too expensive or even if cheap, would I have to sacrifice my comfort and convenience? Well I had of course done a little research through the internet and spoke to few of my friends in Delhi. I was happy to know that Delhi is filled with budget hotels as well as luxury hotels with the price range varying from low and mid to high range from which we can choose whatever is convenient for us. Hotels in Delhi have been mushrooming with the booming tourism industry. The good thing is Delhi caters not only to the rich and elite people but also the middleclass and budget travellers.

Almost all of my business dealings were supposed to be held in the South of Delhi. So I planned to book a hotel in South Ex as it is easier to commute. Since Paharganj, where most of the budget hotels are located, would be too far. However, the one I got in South Ex was also not bad considering the price and the amenities that they offered. It was wooden furnished and I thought that was grand and had proper Acs as well as TV and internet which is why I took it since internet was really necessary for my business purposes. So basically, there is not much of a difference in the services of a budget hotel in comparison to a luxury one. The facilities that a luxury hotel would offer you would be, massages, exotic aromatic baths, etc. so basically if you want to get pampered, a luxury hotel is the best option.

At the end of the day I was happy with what Delhi had to offer. After a tiring day at work, I would just go back to the Hotel and relax a bit. I had already made some friends and I would go out for dinner in the evening at a nice restaurant or a lounge. The experience was wonderful and Im longing to go back to Delhi very soon again.
