Maintenance Procedure for Closed Circuit Cooling Tower:

An Evaporative peice of tool that contains two seperate fluid circuits.

1. The Water is reveal to the atmosphere as it arrange over the tubes of a coil bundle.

2. Fluid to be cooled pass around inside the tubes of the coil bundle.

Maintenance Service Types:

1.Check Fan for Rotation Without Obstruction

2.Check Fan and Pump Motor for Proper Rotation

3.Drain Basin and Piping

4.Inspect Protective Finish

5.Check and Adjust Basin Water Level

6.Inspect General Condition of Unit

7.Clean Debris from Unit

8.Clean and Flush Basin

9.Clean Basin Strainer

10.Lubricate Fan Shaft Bearings

11.Inspect Heat Transfer Section

12.Inspect Spray Nozzles

13.Check and Adjust Fan Belt Tension

14.Check and Adjust Bleed Rate

15.Check Operation of Make-up Valve

16.Check Unit for Unusual Noise or Vibration

17.Check Fan Bearing Locking Collars

18.Check Motor Voltage and Current

19.Lubricate Fan Motor Bearings

20.Lubricate Motor Base Adjusting Screw

Startup Maintenance on power:

1.Check and clean inlet air screens, fans, eliminators, heat transfer sections.

2.Drain the cold water basin (with basin strainers in place) and flush to remove accumulated dirt.

3.Remove, clean, and replace basin strainers.

4.Activate the fan(s) by own hand to confirm that obstruct without rotation

5.Check the locking collar on each fan bearing assembly and tighten as required.

6.Check and, if necessary, adjust the fan belt tension.

7.Prior to seasonal start-up, lubricate the fan shaft and motor bearings.

8.The ball bearings are factory lubricated, but should be re-lubricated if the unit has been sitting on site for more than a year before start-up.

8.Check float operated make-up valve to be sure it is operating freely.

Maintenance after power down:

1.Drain the cold water basin and all piping that will be exposed to freezing temperatures.

2.Clean and flush the cold water basin with the basin strainers in place. Leave the cold water basin drain open so rain and melting snow will drain from the unit.

3.Clear the basin strainers and re-install.

4.Lubricate and clean the fan shaft and adjusting screw of motor bearings and motor base

5.Close the shutdown valve in make-up water line and drain all exposed make-up water piping.
