Practice, practice and more practice, that's the only way you will be able to become a better golfer and lower your handicap. But the key is to practice proper golf technique which will get you positive results. Most likely if you are a bad golfer it's because you have bad technique which result in you slicing, topping, drawing and fading the ball when you don't want to.

There could also be a million other things you're doing wrong like your stands is too close or too far from the ball, how you grip the club, breaking your elbow when you swing, not finishing your swing by completing your turn, having too much movement in your swing, picking your head up too early, and the list can go on and on.

There's a reason why golf coaches get paid top dollars for their golf instructios and golf tips_they teach proper golf techniques. The rest is up to you to practice what you were taught.

Ever wonder why on some shots you will look like a pro with the results you get and on other shots you will look like you don't belong on a golf course. The answer is simple, it all comes down to proper technique. Every swing you make is different which results in good and bad shots leaving you guessing and wrecking your brain trying to figure out what was it you did correctly when you hit that good shot. It's almost impossible to figure out what you did correctly when you hit a good shot if you don't know what causes good and bad shots.

Everything learned can be unlearned with constant repetition. So to become a better golfer one must learn proper golf techniques and learn what causes good and bad shots. Once you know these things and practice them constantly to get your body and mind acclimated to them, you will see your golf game improve.
