Poonen says that it is a positive step at introducing the creativity of millions of developers worldwide through the companys Mobile 2.0 strategy, which seeks to amass every possible creative work in the mobile arena.
Stephen Drake, Programme VP of Mobility & Telecom for International Data Corporation (IDC), a market research firm specializing in telecommunications, says that theres an upsurge in mobile application innovations in the market lately. These innovations mainly circle around application development environments, frameworks and methodologies. Hailing the move by SAP, Drake says that encouraging and offering support to all those mobile apps developers through an enterprise platform is a great way to bring the lesser known skills into the forefront. For SAP, Andrew Fox says that the company has also decided to purchase enterprise mobile application provider, Syclo as a part of a longer term strategy.
