If you're keen to go slightly further then there is always Amsterdam, which you reach from a change at Brussels on to Dutch rail line. Amsterdam is a place of variety, with more canals than Venice. Fantastic to find Van Gogh art, museums of erotica and just to explore the chic cafes and designer bars. A fantastic getaway for those that like to cycle and are keen on beautiful architecture.
