subject: Your Guide To Enjoying A Trip To Thailand [print this page]

With pristine beaches, historical sites, a unique culture and some of the happiest people in the world, Thailand has some fun experiences waiting to be had. One of the most hassle-free countries in South East Asia, there is a lot to see and do on your trip to Thailand. Before you arrive in this wonderful country, here are some things that you need to take into consideration.

1. What Parts of Thailand to Visit?

From the bustling and vibrant city of Bangkok, to some picturesque mountain ranges and some tropical islands and white beaches, the country has a lot to offer. Unless you intend to stay here for a few months, it is difficult for a traveller to experience all the highlights of the country.

Spend time on the internet to refer to a guide book to identify the cities and towns that you would like to visit in this trip. Also make sure you research on some of the lesser known destinations of the country since they also hold some great travel treasures for tourists.

2. Making your Transport Arranges

While it is always recommended to make advanced bookings for your flights to and from the country, most travellers choose not to make advanced bookings for their domestic travel within the country. If you are have a relatively flexible travel and are visiting the major tourist destinations such as Chiang Mai and Koh Samui, you will be able to find some great rates on domestic flights even a day or two before you wish to fly. Do not rely on these deals if you are visiting during peak holiday season. If you are looking for a more cost effective holiday, travelling by road is also an excellent way to soak in some Thai culture.

3. Finding Accommodations-

If you intend to stay in touristy areas, such as Patong Beach in Phuket, it is best that you make your bookings in advance. If you are looking for really cheap accommodations you can also head to the less dense areas and find some great accommodations such as guest houses and apartments that are really cheap.

4. What to do in Thailand

Thailand is probably among the most exotic countries you will visit in this lifetime. While you are here, try to pursue activities that allow you to get to know the culture a little bit more. Besides this, this tourism dependant country is very friendly towards travellers and offers a range of activities in each and every city or town you visit. Book yourself one of the famous massage therapies and experience a relaxation like none other. You can also pursue a range of water sporting activities such as jet skiing, scuba diving and snorkelling.

If you have sufficient time, you can also take up certification courses for scuba diving, learn massage techniques, learn a local art form, or take up cooking classes.

Any traveller who visits this wonderful country comes back enriched with memories and experiences that no other country has been able to offer.
