Tirupati, one of the most significant pilgrimage centres in India, is famous for the temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara and draws millions of pilgrims every year and is one of the wealthiest temples in the world.

Hyderabad, the city of pearls, is the capital of Andhra Pradesh and is known for its unique culture, art, architecture, theatre, drama, literature and cuisine.

Tirupati lies at a distance of 556 km from Hyderabad. Tirupati and Hyderabad are well connected by various means of transportation, road, rail and air.

To cover the distance from Tirupati to Hyderabad on road it takes around 8 hours and 30 minutes. The NH 40 or the Bangalore Hyderabad highway connects these two cities. One gets to pass through towns like Kadappa, Kurnool and Vallur on this highway. Another alternative route is to take the NH 5. The distance is around 30 km more and it takes 30 minutes to cover the distance, but the roads are better and wider. There are various restaurants on the way as well as fuel pumps. The HH 5 is a tolled expressway.

Bus services are available on both the routes. Both state transport buses and private buses have their buses plying from Tirupati to Hyderabad. Some of the private operators are SRS Travels, VRL Travels and KPN Travels. The most convenient are the overnight sleeper buses from Tirupati to Hyderabad. Some of the private operators can even take care of your lodging. APSRTC buses start from the Tirupati Central bus stand and terminate at the Hyderabad Main Stand.

One can also hire a taxi. For a return journey a taxi will cost from Rs. 12000 to Rs. 15000. There are a lot of tourists who drive in their own car, which is a very feasible option.

The fastest way to reach Hyderabad from Tirupati is to take a flight. Direct flights are available from Tirupati to Hyderabad on all days. Low cost airways like Air India, SpiceJet, Jet Airways, and Jetlite have direct flights that cost from Rs. 3000. It takes about an hour to reach Hyderabad from Tirupati.

The most convenient way of reaching Hyderabad from Tirupati is by train. Trains are available from the Tirupati Station to the Kacheguda Hyderabad Station as well as the Secunderabad Station, 15 km away from the Hyderabad City Center. Express trains take around 12 hours to cover the distance.
