There are many places to purchase cheap mass produced beads to practice your new hobby these will come in single units or you can by multiples and these will work out cheaper. This way you can often find some very interesting beads at low prices. Dont be afraid if you do not get it right the first time you can always take it apart and start again.

When you have built up your confidence you can start and move on to more expensive handmade beads. There are some stunning beads on the market that are handcrafted by true artisans. When you come to price these pieces you may think that they are very expensive but if you consider the time and skill that it takes to make each bead it will justify the price you have to pay. It only takes two beads to make a pair of bead earrings so for a small price you can create yourself a unique piece of handmade jewellery. You do not have to use all handmade beads in your original designs you can use them as focal points for the designs and then fill in with cheaper mass produced beads.

The possibilities of your designs are only limited to your imagination and you are going to going to have hours of fun while you create your own unique and original beaded jewellery designs. Place a bead mat on the table and lay out your beads and play with them mixing different combinations of colours, shapes and sizes and see what you like the best. You do not have to string them straight away you can take your time in deciding the most beautiful combination before you start to string the beads. If your beads are handmade there will be slight variations in the size shape and shade so try and match the beads up especially if it is a pair of earrings that you are going to make. If you are going to make an asymmetrical design remember that you have to balance the weight of the beads so that it will hang correctly.
