subject: Self Improvement Tips For Men - 3 Suggestions To Improve Things Little By Little [print this page] We all like the idea of being able to make big, sweeping, massive changes in a short period of time. A lot of us have found that does not always end up being the way that things happen and sometimes it's not even all that practical to expect that. What happens when you are expecting big changes to happen in a short period of time and all you end up with is little changes?
Usually you'll be a little bit disappointed by that.
That disappointment can make you feel like there is no sense in trying to make changes or to improve things about your life, just because you were expecting big things and all you got were little ones. On the other hand, had you had slightly different expectations, you'd probably be feeling pretty good about those little changes, right?
Here are 3 tips that can help you improve things in your life, little by little:
1) Practice the art of wanting MORE in your life.
Yeah, I really do think that there is an art to this. The ability to use your imagination to see what you want to see is an art form, in my opinion. I also do think that this is very helpful when you are looking to make improvements in your life. When you want more, it's hard not to get motivated to do something to bring about that what you want.
2) Goal setting should become a habit.
One of the things that I think will throw guys off from wanting to set goals is because you probably had some in the past that you worked at and still didn't achieve. When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than to be a football player. I played all of the time, I practiced and I put my heart into it. Locally, I was considered to be very good.
State wide, when the competition become a little higher, I was just average. So, that was a goal that went unfulfilled, even though I did put my heart and soul into it. So, I decided for a while that goal setting was for the birds. Luckily, I changed my perspective after a couple of years. Don't allow one goal that you might have had and were unable to achieve keep you from setting new ones.
3) Take weekly actions to achieve what you want.
Some would say that you should take daily action and for the most part, I would agree with that. However, depending on the amount of time that you have and how hard or how easy it is for you to give attention to whatever goals that you might have, taking weekly actions might be a little more practical.
