There are plenty of reasons why we suffer from stress and many people may not even be aware that they are afflicted. We are currently experiencing extremely difficult financial times and our careers might be unstable or threatened. The loss of somebody that is close to us or even an extreme change in our personal life will all affect us in different ways and many of us will suffer some form of stress when these things happen. Many symptoms will show up emotionally however there are physical stress symptoms that can also be a telltale sign.

Your heart can be seriously affected by stress and it is also a good sign that you are suffering from stress. It should have a regular beat that isnt too fast as panic attacks and existing problems can be brought on or made worse by stress. Chest pains can be a serious stress symptom that needs urgent medical attention.

Your body may react in other ways to stress such as headaches of problems with digestion. Stomach aches, sickness, dizziness and nausea and diarrhea can also be stress symptoms.

If you believe that you have a problem with stress then you should keep an eye on your blood pressure and schedule regular checkups. You can also buy monitors from drugstores to monitor your blood pressure yourself. If these stress symptoms persist you should try to arrange for a doctor to give you a physical examination.

Stress can affect your appetite in different ways and some will eat more whilst others will eat less. Try to weigh yourself on a weekly basis at a regular time of the day whilst you are undressed. Monitor your weight gain or loss as these can be a sign of stress.

If you find that you are struggling to sleep or that you are constantly tired and sleep too much you may be suffering with stress as this is also a sign. If you worry a lot then you will find sleeping difficult; you might also suffer from constant nightmares.

Feeling short of breath or breathing too quickly can also be a stress symptom that needs to be recognized. Asthma sufferers may notice an increase in the amount of attacks that they experience as a result of stress.

People who suffer from stress will often feel fatigued and lazy. If everything seems a bit too much hassle then you could be showing stress symptoms as life can become a chore rather than a joy. If you seem to have less energy than you are used to then you may also be suffering.

Stress can manifest itself in many ways and can be extremely damaging to our health and our lifestyle so it is important that we recognize the signs. If you are experiencing any of these stress symptoms then you should seek medical advice as soon as you can. There are many reasons why we suffer from stress and these must be eliminated or dealt with so that we can carry on with a normal and healthy life.
