Otherwise, you are pretty much free to choose your own path.
No deadlines to meet: In distance education programs, you are encouraged to take your time. This makes a lot of sense, because each person has a different capacity for learning, and expecting everyone to wrap up a particular course in a given time-frame is not fair. You decide how you want to move.
