subject: Artists On Burning Spear Vinals [print this page]

When Burning Spear Vinals first appeared on the scene in the late 60s as 78RPM albums, these recording devices took the world by storm. After which, both 78s and 45s became quite popular with the youth of the day. As a result, any band which could get on to vinyl often had an edge when it came to becoming successful in the music community.

While there may be a small resurgence of tables and vinyl on the market, most often these products are aimed towards DJs and those providing dance music at local high school or other parties. Of course, there are also others which buy these items simply as an act of nostalgia. Regardless, most often these new vinyl cuts while extremely cool hold little collectible value, at least not at the present time.

Anything found from the late 60s, early 70s or on specific labels which have gone out of print or ceased production often carry higher values than other items. In addition, the condition of the vinyl often plays a large part into placing a value on these type of collectibles. So, to obtain the most money possible when selling or reselling an item, it is often best to keep the item in as close to mint condition as possible.

Otherwise, individuals may make a purchase only to find that the item can often be difficult to resale. This is especially true in areas in which there are limited populations without tourists attractions. Whereas, those living in large metropolitan areas or areas which tourists often frequent are most often going to have the best luck finding an audience when looking to resale.

In addition, it is often good to check the value of an item before purchase to assure one is paying a fair price. So, if an item is marked above a fair resale price, the individual can avoid losing money. Now, if one is simply buying the item to own a piece of musical history, then it is often a decision which can better be measured by the love of music rather than price of resale.

As a result, these early releases are often found quite attractive to collectors, especially those on Burning Spear vinyls. However, there are also other companies such as Island records who moved onto the scene w/cuts and albums on Vinyl in the mid to late 70s during the disco boom. Although, after Markus Garvey became a rather big hit nationally, Burning Spear records became quite well known for its production of Jamaican music.

Regardless of love for a genre, most music fans are going to be happy to hear that there are now Audio 5.1 versions on Blu-ray as well as compact disc and DVD. As with movie formats, nothing seems to hold a candle to Blu-ray. Releases are still quite limited though obtaining high quality audio on this new format is definitely worth the wait according to many artists now actively working in the music industry.

So, while Burning Spear Vinals are quite popular, there are also other formats which are worth even more as collectibles. Of course, those which are most collectible are those which are antique or hard to find. As a result, there are a number of Vinyl Albums and 45s of value which can now be found in a number of antique malls, bazaars and garage sales around the world.
