The NH 4 connects Bangalore with the city of Davangere. Davangere lies at a distance of 270 km on this route and it takes about 4 hours to complete the journey passing through Tumkur, Hiriyur, Chitradurga, and finally terminating in Davangere. Alternative routes through the SH 48 and NH 7 cover more distance, kilometer wise, and thus take more time to cover the distance. There are rest stops and hotels en route serving food and snacks.

Karnataka State buses are available from the Bangalore Kempegowda bus stand to Davangere which charges Rs 300 to Rs 500. KSRTC buses have introduced Volvo and multi-axle Volvo buses as well. There are private operators plying buses from Bangalore to Davangere that come under different categories like ordinary, AC and non-AC sleeper and semi sleeper. One can book these buses on various net portals. The cost of a seat may cost from Rs. 400 to Rs. 700 depending on the bus.

One can also drive in your own car, as the roads are good and wide. It is better to avoid driving your car during the night as heavy vehicles may frequent the route.

Taxis too can be hired at a cost of about Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 inclusive of return journey. Travelling by car is ideal for small families and couples.

There are various trains running between the stations of Bangalore and Davangere on a daily basis. Trains depart from the Bangalore City Station and the Yeshwantpur Station. There are a few passenger trains as well that connect Davangere to Bangalore. They are (56915) Hubli Passenger, (56909) Bangalore City-Hubli Passenger, (56518) Harihar Chitradurga Passenger, and (56273) Arsikere Hubli Passenger. The proposal to lay a rail track between Davangere to Tumkur would further reduce the travel time.

Davangere has no airport and the nearest airport to Davangere is Hubli Airport, 143 km away. There is a proposal for starting a new airport in Davangere.
