Flights to Delhi allow visitors to enjoy some of the best shopping destinations in India, such Connaught Place, Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk. These are places where you can pick up bargains, high end products as well as antiques. However, people usually want to visit the monuments and places of historical importance. So looking for cheap flights to Delhi should be a priority if this is the case. One of the most iconic structures in the city is the Red Fort. This fort is made from red sandstone and was constructed by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor, who was responsible for building the Taj Mahal. The fort was the place from where the emperor ruled over his empire. While the adornments are no longer there, the sheer size of the structure can be extremely imposing. And, the lovely green gardens will surely gladden anyone"s heart. Within the fort, there are some major buildings that are worth visiting, such as the Chatta Chowk, which is a covered bazaar perfect for picking up souvenirs, the Diwan-i-Am, which is where the emperor would give audience to the public, Diwan-i-Khas, the hall for special visitors and made completely from marble, Rang Mahal, the residence of the emperors chief wife, and Mumtaz Mahal, the emperor"s harem, but now it is museum to showcase carpets, weapons and textiles. There is even a museum dedicated to the history of India"s independence movement that is worth checking out.

Another attraction in the city that is extremely popular is the Humayun"s Tomb. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has a lovely well-maintained Persian style garden. The first tomb in the monument is that of Iza Khan, a court noble, who was responsible for building this structure, but the center of attraction is the tomb of the second Mughal emperor, Humayun. Incidentally, this tomb is similar in design to the Taj Mahal, but instead of marble, red sandstone was used. In this case, the tomb was constructed by Humayun"s widow. There is an entrance that leads visitors to the main crypt where the emperor"s remains are buried.

Cheap tickets to Delhi mean an opportunity to visit the Qutub Minar, which is a 72.5 meters tall minaret of a mosque, which was constructed in 1193. The structure is still well-preserved and it is possible to see the craftsmanship that went into carving it. Then, there is the Jama Masjid, which is the biggest mosque in the country and offers a wonderful view of the city from its minaret.

As this is the capital of the country, many major airlines, such as British Airways, Air China and Air France, fly to and from the city. So getting airline tickets for cheap should not be an issue.
