subject: Mens Sports Jackets In High Demand In The Market [print this page]

For those in the upper-echelons of the society in that particular era, they put on very less formal versions of it for their outdoor activities like their hobbies like hunting and riding or to lunch with their rowing buddies in special occasions in regular intervals. Today a sport jacket is more of a fashion statement than anything else and an indispensable staple in a well organised and fashion conscious man's wardrobe.

So now the point of discussion arises that how is a sport jacket different from a standard jacket. To start with, a sport jacket is usually worn with a pair of trousers that complement the colour of the sport jacket which is usually not of the same fabric, shade and texture to the jacket itself. In fact, it is growing ever popular to team it with a pair of jeans or chinos which really looks stunning when flaunted by men.

In old school sport jackets, the fabric used was much thicker and sturdier but today the choices and the options available to customize it are really endless. Many still however, often retain the style and the cut used such as the slanted pockets and back vents.

People also often confuse a sport jacket with a blazer many a times. While the blazer has definitely evolved from the sport jacket without any point of doubt, purists will be quick to point out that 'blazers' refer only to double-breasted navy colored jackets with brass buttons. Blazers made today have moved away from the usual and traditional brass buttons and will almost always be a single-breasted cut with two or three buttons. Taller men should aim for three buttons while if you are shorter and stockier, stick with two which will definitely look good on you. Most importantly, make sure it is of the right size according to your physique. An over-sized sports jacket does not look good on you which are for sure. A well-fitted sports jacket is a very chic item of clothing to own and is very dynamic for your wardrobe.

Many big label and high profile fashion houses have claimed to breathe new life into the blazer by making it in other vibrant shades. Although, many will then argue that they are straying straight back into the Sports Jacket territory as it is the colors, good textures and lack of adherence to any "set" rules that distinguishes it from the other types of the sports jackets. Indeed, this type of jacket comes in a variety of fabulous patterns, textures, fabrics, colors, cuts and lapel styles.
