subject: Make An Outstanding Impression On The Internet With Minneapolis Web Design [print this page]

Arguably, few inventions have evolved as rapidly as the Internet. If we compare how far this modern miracle has come in just the two decades since it was first introduced commercially, as compared to two other inventions of the modern era, one's jaw literally drops. Think of the automobile, which first hit the roads as an awkward reinterpretation of the horse-drawn carriage, around the beginning of the 20th century. It took at least 20 to 30 years before some of the modern features that we take for granted today, such as disc brakes, or automatic transmissions, to become standard features. The early engines were also incredibly inefficient, and if one sees old movie reels, one realizes that the engine itself had to be started with a hand crank placed at the front of the car. While most of the standard features of today's cars, such as air conditioning, and power steering were common by the 1950s, it has only been in the last decade that some of the new features we take for granted, such as GPS navigation, or built-in DVD players and docking stations for our iPods or iPhones have found their way into the current models. So, in a sense, we can say that the modern automobile has taken over 100 years to achieve the level of sophistication that we enjoy today. If we look at the airplane, it has followed a similar track. There is no doubt that both world wars provided a tremendous incentive for airplane designers and manufacturers to rapidly improve on their designs, and yet the modern jet engine of today was only developed around 60 years ago, and even then it was only meant for military use. Commercial applications for public transportation had to wait another 10 to 20 years, and even those first models couldn't hold as many people as the jumbo jets of today, nor travel as far without refueling.

The Internet has evolved so rapidly, we barely have had time to catch our breath, let alone keep up with all the latest innovations. From being a simple yet effective means of communicating via e-mail, it has morphed and evolved into the most important communication tool of our era. Social network websites have risen to prominence in the last few years, and every company that wants to have a meaningful presence on the Web needs to be present on these networks, constantly updating them and pushing content out to their followers. Their web pages also have to be clean, attractive, and have all the right elements in place so that they are easily found when consumers go searching on Google or other engines. For this reason, it is important to have experts such as Minneapolis Web design on your team, to constantly update and refresh your Internet presence, so that you remain relevant, and don't get left behind in this virtual universe that continues to evolve.
