Since it is one of most beautiful places in India we didnt thought twice before deciding to go to Coorg. I and my wife were accompanied by my sister and her husband. As it was a long weekend we all planned to spend all our holidays together with a road trip from Mysore to Coorg. We travelled by my car and even I was waiting for a reason to take out my vehicle as it has been in parking lot for more than a month. Before the trip I made sure that the car was serviced well as since Mysore to Coorg distance is 120 km, I thought it would make sense if the car is well serviced, or our whole outing would be a complete mess. On our way to Coorg we took some halt so it took us around four hours to reach the spot from Mysore.
Before starting we had already booked our accommodation in one of the hotels in Coorg. The reason to choose this hotel was because of it location as it was near to many attractions. After reaching the hotel we changed ourselves in to some casuals and started our sight-seeing activities. The first thing we did was to explore the nearby attractions. Time and time again we have seen this place but still it feels different every time you see it. The place is so beautifully that you can hardly concentrate on other things. After visiting this nearest attractions we also went to Madikeri or Mercara Fort. I was wondering how creative the people would have been at that time. Their creativity could be seen from their work and beautifully constructed sculptures were one of the proof.
After seeing all the palaces we descended to Tala Cauvery & Bhagamandala. Then we also went to Yemmemadu Dargah Sherief. It was the perfect place where you will find peace. The people in Coorg are always at peace with this kind of nature around them. The last spot we went was to Nalknad Aramane or Palace. The whole experience of sight-seeing was pleasurable but it took some toll on our body. We were completely tired by the time we reached back to our hotels. We had skipped our lunch and it was not doing anything good for our health. We went directly to have our dinner at nearby restaurants. The multi-cuisine restaurant was very neatly maintained. We had some of the best food which not only filled us but also won our hearts. The meals were deliciously prepared. We were supposed to start our return journey next day so my wife and sister went to their respective room to get some good sleep. I and my brother-in-law went to have some drinks in the bar.
While having the drink we were talking about the places we visited and about planning to construct our own farmhouse in Coorg. Such was the affect of Coorg that we decided to settle here after retirement. It was after someone interrupted us we came to know that we were there for more than an hour. We settled our bill and went to our respective rooms and had a very good and deep sleep. Next day morning while checking out we found that our total expenditure was very less than what we expected on our booking and food. Now this trip was not only gratifying but also the cheapest. We wondered all the things the hotel provided were of good class but the price charged by them was reasonable. So it goes without saying next visit at Coorg our booking will be at this hotel itself.
