subject: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Price In India [print this page]

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is another premium tablet from the Korean giant. When launched, it was considered the closest device to become an iPad 2 challenger. It is near enough identical in terms of design Galaxy Tab 10.1. The 8.9-inch size strikes a nice balance between being comfortable to hold and manage, while still providing a different experience than a smartphone. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is also known as Galaxy Tab 730 in India. This Galaxy device is a sleek Tablet as it measures 8.6 mm in thickness.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will run on Honeycomb OS and powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. This Android Tablet sports a 1280800 WXGA touchscreen display resolution. The capacitive and multi-touch performance was impressive as expected.

It features TouchWiz UI with live panels for Emails weather and supports dual-band Wi-Fi. That brings a handful of features including a series of mini apps that can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. It uses the same Nvidia Tegra 2 processor at 1GHz as the 10.1 model, has 1GB of RAM and has 16GB of internal memory.

Though it has 3G connectivity on the go, it doesn't offer SIM calling. At this price it is the cheapest tablet with 3G from any MNC player, with a screen bigger than 7 inches. While the 7 inch tablet market is flooded with cheaper 3G tablets, in the 9 inch plus range, there are very few players with 3G feature. The only major drawback of this tablet is that it runs a relatively old OS, Android 3.1 Honeycomb. But this OS was specially designed for tablets unlike Gingerbread, which was meant for smartphones but runs on many 7 inch tablets. But there is one good news.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 in the US. The update is 313.96 MB in size and brings with it a newer version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI, along with the usual Android 4.0 features. Otherwise the tablet has a very good processor, screen resolution and quality. All these features makes it a very attractive deal for anyone looking for a tablet with all the bells and whistles and at a cheaper price.

These Samsung tablets also sport Mini Apps Tray which allows user to select up to 6 apps to pop-up without switching the screen. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 price in India makes it as one of the cheapest 3G tablet from an MNC brand in India. With Samsung launching the next version of its Galaxy Tab series with Tab 2, the previously launched Samsung tablets PC prices are expected to be reduced. When officially announced, the latest price would be available on Samsung tablets price list. Even some retailers have started to sell the older Samsung tablets PC at a much lower price than earlier.
