subject: How To Smile Naturally [print this page]

A smile can convey a lot of things and it an internationally understood language. It makes you more approachable and by smiling you convey good vibes and positive energy. It gives the recipient of the smile a warm fuzzy feeling and is understood by all races and cultures. Everybody responds to a radiant smile so it is important for you to learn how to smile naturally.

A good, unforced smile tends to light up your eyes and prevents you from developing unsightly wrinkles. It shows that you are in a good mood. But some people tend to hide their smile for a number of reasons. Sometimes they are conscious of their teeth. Instead of worrying about your teeth, do something about it, like going to the dentist to have them cleaned regularly. Stop making close-lipped smiles that really look forced.

Practice in front of the mirror as often as you can. Also look for a job or a cause where smiling is part of the task like in restaurants, volunteer work and reception halls. The task of smiling often will help you smile naturally. It also teaches you how to smile comfortably and makes you look professional. It makes you look genuine and shows that you have an assertive personality. Smile at random strangers as you practice your smile, but avoid practicing your smile at someone with sunglasses; it is important that you see the expression in their eyes.

When smiling, be sure to use your eyes as well. The expression in the eyes never lies, and when you smile with both your eyes and mouth it will seem natural. This makes your smile more genuine because of its natural glow. Again do this in front of the mirror to see and feel what a natural smile looks like. You may even practice this by making an "eee" sound. Take note that there is a difference between a smile and a grin. Grinning bares more teeth than what is necessary. Make sure that you make the perfect smile by avoiding a close-lipped on or a grin.

Think happy thoughts, love people and be content with your life. Surround yourself with people who make you happy or who are positive so that smiling will not feel like a chore. These are steps in helping you make a natural smile. Look at some of your previous photos and see the difference between a genuine smile and a close-lipped one. Also doing a smile that is heartfelt will also make your smile look natural and light.

One of the things you can do to help you smile naturally is to brush your teeth regularly. Clean your tongue and floss after eating. Deal with stinky breath and make sure that you make a visit to your dentist for your regular check-up. Maintaining a good oral hygiene is important so that you'll feel good about your teeth and breath which will help you smile more naturally. It is also important that you take care of your lips and make sure that it is protected against chapping.
