The heritage city, Jaipur mesmerizes its guests by its majestic forts and monuments. Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, is also called the Pink City as its walls of the buildings are painted in pink. The city of Jaipur was established in the year 1727 by Sawai Jaisingh II who had a good knowledge in astronomy. Jaipur, also called as the Walled City, welcomes a lot of tourists every year.

Jaipur houses many attractive forts and monuments and some of them are Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Hawa Mahal and the City Palace. Nahargarh Fort was the earlier residence of the Maharaja. Janthar Manthar is an observatory constructed by Sawai Jaisingh II used for astronomical calculations with the position of sunlight. There are a set of 14 buildings used for the calculations and is very reliable even now. Hawa Mahal is a five-storied monument with overhanging 152 windows. This was originally made for royal ladies to view the procession in the streets. Amber fort is a huge fort which contains fantastic chambers like Diwan-i-Aam, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas and Jai Mahal. Sisodia Rani Garden is a marvelous garden built by raja for his queen.

Delhi, the capital of India, has a rich culture and overwhelming history. Situated on the banks of River Yamuna, Delhi is designed by a British architect, Edwin Lutyens. Rashtrapati Bhawan in the Raisina Hill and other buildings show the architectural caliber of Lutyens. Delhis rulers played a crucial rule for the construction and destruction of the city. Delhi flourished under the British rule. Delhi is a perfect combination of culture, tradition, power and politics. Delhi houses a lot of government offices and other buildings. Delhi has a lot of shopping options and tourist attractions. Delhis monuments and other famous buildings showcase the great architectural capacity of Mughals who ruled the area for a long time.

Regular economy flights like Spice jet, Indigo and Jet airways fly from Delhi to Jaipur. These are very cheap and affordable.

A lot of trains like super-fast, express and luxury trains depart from Delhi to Jaipur and it takes more than 5 hours to reach there.

Bus is also an option to travel from Delhi to Jaipur. There are frequent AC and non AC sleeper and seater buses which cost you around Rs. 145/- to Rs. 578/- for a trip. Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses also ply between the two states.

Taxis charge Rs. 5,800/- to reach Jaipur. This cab is for four people. For seven people it costs Rs. 7,900/- for round trip.

If you have your own vehicle it takes approximately 3 hours 40 minutes to cover the distance of 265 km depending upon the vehicle.
