subject: Fear Of Failure - It Is Stopping You From Being Successful [print this page]

It is a common problem for people not to be doing everything that they can in the situations that they are presented with and, as such, they miss out on seizing the various opportunities presented to them in their life. Therefore, the root cause of their losses is themselves.

Not doing everything within your power to win is most likely due to the same reason that applies to the other 95% of people who are not successful, which is fear of failure. It is a vicious circle; you are not yet successful, so you think that you are a failure, and because you consider yourself a failure, you do not want to put yourself in positions where you can fail again.

This fear is literally stealing opportunities from you. Opportunities will always continue to present themselves, but whilst you keep on holding back, you will never be able to fully seize them. Even a slight fear of failure is sufficient enough, as not giving everything you have puts you at a serious disadvantage.

Your fortune is sealed the moment that you submit to your fear of failure. By not even trying, how can you ever hope to win? The thing is, by getting involved, you nearly always have a chance of winning, even if it is a small one.

The often cited phrase "Aim for the moon, at least if you miss you will be among the stars" is more than just a cliche. Keep it mind always, because there is a lot of truth in it.

You should aim big even if your chances of success seem relatively low, because by doing so you will be pushing yourself to be the best that you possibly can be. The times when you aim big and miss, you will still be better off than you would have been if you had aimed low.

By adopting this approach, your self-confidence will significantly increase and so will the confidence and belief that others have in you. A combination of those two things puts you in a better position than you are in now.

Whilst you should not be overly concerned with what others think of you, it is not something to be ignored either. By having support from others, you will have people to lean on and give you a boost the next time that you are aiming for the moon, and that little extra could be just what you need to see you get there.
