Blackberry playbook is a well known and popular tablet computer that is developed by Research in Motion. It became the first ever device to run blackberry tablet operating system on its platform. Later the blackberry tablet operating system was merged with the blackberry operating system which resulted into the emergence of new operating system known as BBX. It was popularly known as BBX with real meaning as blackberry 10 that was meant to be used on all research in motion devices universally.

We will discuss here the different features and notifications of blackberry playbook to get into the detail of device. Playbook operating system browser is well known for its capability to hang on to the next generations of the software. It was the first one that does web debugging with the help of remote web inspector through LAN. Similar feature was introduced in android chrome but it uses USB for web debugging instead of LAN. This browser also supports the APIs like device motion, web sockets, web workers, form elements, touch events and CSS3 styling.

Playbook 2.0 surprisingly supports various features of HTML5 in its web browser by default. It has been introduced with the support of web notification API, webGL which is the API used for 3D drawings, Content editable attribute, XMLHttpRequest 2, 3D transformations, Browser History API and SVG fonts. Inclusion of HTML5 has made it easier to add a page in your web browser by a simple touch rather than adding a bookmark. But it does not provide a facility of web icon as it is done in iOS 5.1 instead it only gives the screenshot of the webpage to be identified as a bookmark.

Blackberry application development supports some surprising elements like inclusion of 3D webGL n browser which can prove to be a risk to security of your playbook. It displays a warning when you attempt to run a webGL on your playbook as some malicious software can harm the integrity of your playbook by taking way your data. It can even lead to crash of your playbook. If the feature is so dangerous then why would it have been introduced in this playbook? This feature allows running of interactive 3D graphics on the web browser therefore chances are that someone can steal your data and harm security of your device.

Web notifications serve the purpose of communication of a web application with the user at anytime. It displays a notification in the operating system through the web browser to interact with the user. Though the API is available in the playbook but it is incomplete. When notification displays then it does not create any event when user clicks on it. It displays only the URL of website instead of notification message that user wants to read.

Along with some benefits and limitations blackberry application development services have offered us the new Playbook 2.0. However this device is a success among the users due to introduction of HTML5 in it. It enhances the technicality of the software used in it.
