Social media marketing is a medium which has made many brands a star overnight. The foremost example of an organization taking a full fledge advantage of social media advertising is Apple. The Apple Inc. has worked very sincerely over these social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. You can almost every a new app for promotion on the official Apple app store page which has more than 4 million fans.

But RIM is nowhere seen so actively on any of the social media platforms. However, RIM official account on Twitter has almost more than 1 million fans but they get to see updates and news about the hardware. RIM hardly shares any information that would narrow the gap between its BlackBerry apps developers and users. Similar to Apple, RIM also has an App Wednesday program where it updates information about new blackberry app every Wednesday. This is of no use practically. RIM must give a daily update about its new BlackBerry Apps Development to build on the interest and demand for its blackberry apps developers.

Social Media platforms are very effective promotional mediums but surprisingly, Rim does not have any official BlackBerry app store page on Facebook which is a great drawback. It is very strange to see why RIM has been so ignorant towards power of social media. It would have really helped them to keep interest of their trusted users worldwide.

Facebook has become a commercial platform more than a personal platform. Similar is the case with Twitter it is not just mere a micro blogging website. It has turned out to be a massive and powerful podium to address millions of fans at one goes worldwide. Any organization adopting social media marketing via experienced professionals can see positive results with time. It gives a golden opportunity to interact with their fans and customers directly. The organization can also come to know about whether there are hit or a fall among the consumers in the market as people share their views via social media platforms very openly. This gives an idea to an organization what improvements or changes they need to do in order to make their product more successful.

RIM must also now give bit of their attention towards advertising especially towards social media platforms. They have got great potential to make a brand a superstar. If people like you on social platforms then there are high chances that they are availing your products and services in real life too. Working on social platforms will certainly bridge the gap between Blackberry application developers as they would be getting more limelight and users as they would come to know what new Blackberry has in action.
