subject: Htc Hero Review [print this page] The HTC Hero weighs 135 grams and measures 112mm x 56.2mm x 14.4mm. It looks really fantastic with a large 3 inch touch screen and a decent looking navigational trackball at its base. There is however no keyboard, as all functions (including typing and dialling) are performed on-screen. HTC have made the Hero flat and smooth, with a slight lift at the bottom to make it easier to talk and hold, but also adding a modern look to it.
Camera-wise there is a 5 mega pixel camera on the HTC Hero. The camera is also able to perform video capture. It includes auto-focus to focus on objects before taking the picture and prevent them being blurry as well as an album art application for viewing the pictures.
The music player has 288mega bytes of internal memory so it certainly can hold a fair amount. However it can still be increased further using a Micro sd card. All popular music formats are supported such as AAC, WAV, MIDI and of course MP3. Expect very good sound quality.
The HTC Hero has the standard applications such as calendar, calculator, alarm and reminders. However there are a few advanced features as well including GPS navigation. A document viewer for viewing Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF files. Of course being a smart phone that has business applications the email support is excellent. HTC have also built in social networking applications so that you can keep in touch with whats happening on the web, namely facebook and twitter. Expect excellent internet connectivity with wifi, gprs, edge and 3g.
In summary, the HTC Hero is an excellent business phone, but has a fun modern look that will appeal to more than just business phone users.
