On this day, the Celts held the event of Samhain in the respect of the Celtic god of the dead. At night, Samhain permitted devil and banshee to move on the street and join with the people, or so the Celts thought. The people cook variety of recipes on that day and dressed up in horror costumes and take the food to street. They left it for the spirits to check it.

The celebration of this day is connected with evil spirits, ghost and dead. Flying witches on broomsticks with black cats, evils, ghosts, carved pumpkin, skeleton, spiders, bats and vampires, owls, mummies, vines, grim reaper, bonfires, divination, Candles, werewolves, spiders, Ravens etc. These are some of the symbols and objects of this day.
Activities:
As this day is full of joy, scary and haunt, all the peoples would like to create an eerie by wearing horror costumes. From the morning itself they start the celebration by cooking the food. All the kids dressed in kid"s costume and knock on the doors of neighbor"s house and tell "Trick or Treat". Trick is the word refers to warning that they damage the property of the house if they don"t give treat. Treat means small gift, sweets and even money also.
