subject: Android Application Development Will Introduce A Aifferent Look To Their Smartphone [print this page]

When one thinks of SmartPhone, the first image that comes to mind is the image of iPhone or a similar looking device. In fact the moment one starts scouting for a smartphone in the market, one will be surprised to find quite many models that are a lookalike like iPhone. Hence, with the court case and judgment in Apples favor of winning $1.05 billion over Samsung in a U.S. District court is a setback for other manufacturers. Hence it is not surprising that most Android application development companies are actually going back to their drawing boards to rethink the design. Apple rivals are not pondering on the fact on how similar are the design of their devices similar to iPhone and through the assistance of outsourced Android development are trying to come with ways that would help them differentiate their models from the patented iPhone designs.

For instance Samsung has removed rubber banding, which means bounce-back, which was a feature in Galaxy S III phones. This was one of the infringement claims and they had to eventually remove this feature from their mobile devices. This bounce back effect would happen when a user reached the edge of a document where the user interface would automatically return to the center of the document. Instead of this feature, Samsung has added a blue glow, which would alert the user that there is an edge. Undoubtedly, this judgment will result in competitors making a more conscious effort in ensuring Android application development mobile devices do not offer similar features and design like the iPhone. But in order to bring out major differences in the design, they would need to spend considerable amount of time doing so and this could act as a deterrent to their market share.

Apple definitely built the foundation for a smartphone due to which consumers have a certain image in their mind when think of one. Undoubtedly, the outsourced Android development team will have to come up with versions that are distinctively unique and this can be quite an expensive affair. There are competitors that cannot afford to put in so much of money in redesigning the devices and have already started finding themselves in a soup.

Even though during the trial, Apples attorneys showed RIM Blackberry and Nokia Lumia as different versions of SmartPhone as an example to depict there could exist different variations. But, if one carefully notes it is clearly evident that neither of the cited models are doing exceptionally well in the market.

However, having said that, it is also true that outsourced Android development smartphone makers have to concentrate on incorporating sufficient variations into their designs to create mobile device units that are attractive and appealing. They also have to make sure that Android development enabled SmartPhone are back in production within a short span of time. There is no doubt that Apple has always focused on offering a high standard in industrial design and this is something other Android application development smartphone makers should pay heed to.
