As all you ebay sellers know, providing a fast efficient service for your customers is of great importance. A good service helps to make the entire process easy, uncomplicated and stress free right through from the seller listing the item to the buyer receiving their goods. It will encourage return custom and also the positive feedback which satisfied customers leave can generate new business. The way in which an item is packaged plays a big part in whether or not a customer ends up being satisfied with their purchase. There are many options to consider for packing and wrapping materials. The difficult part can be knowing which type to choose for which items. Here are a few of the options and the benefits and drawbacks of each.

Recycled or New?

It may be suitable for certain companies to use recycled packaging as it may tie in with their green ethos and sustainable products. Shredded paper can be ideal for use as padding or filling voids within boxes. Of course clean brand new wrapping does give off a professional impression. Either will be fine, but if you are using recycled wrapping make sure it is suitable for use and still gives off a smart impression.

Different packing materials

There are a range of options of different packing materials and as stated, different things give off different messages. For instance if you are sending designer clothes, it may be a nice additional touch to add in a sheet of tissue paper and a smart box, to finish off the look and sell your company. What you choose reflects your brand so be sure to give it some consideration. In terms of outer packaging there are a variety of things on offer. Once again the choice will depend on the contents of the package. Bubble envelopes may suffice for smaller lightweight items. It may however be more suitable to box your items. If so you could use a range of fillers such as polystyrene chips or moulds, shredded paper or air bubble wrap to ensure that the items within are safe and do not move around too much.

Supplier

Shop around to find the best supplier for your stationary and packaging materials. Most suppliers will negotiate on prices for orders of five boxes or more. Many also offer a mixed size box meaning that you dont have to buy lots of one thing if you dont need it. Test out their service and goods with a small order and see what suits you best
