subject: Nissan Evalia Launched At Rs 8.49 [print this page] Nissan Motors has launched its popular van, as it is known in the global market in India today. Nissan Evalia price in India starts at Rs 8.49 lakhs (ex-showroom price) for the base version Nissan Evalia XE, launched in four trims, all trim levels are powered with a 1.5 litre K9K diesel motor with a displacement of 1461 cc. This engine produces a high power of 86 PS and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The other trims of Nisasn Evalia ae as follows, Nissan Evalia XE+, Nissan Evalia XL and Nissan Evalia XV.
The base model of the MPV comes powered with features like power steering with tilt-adjust, electric wing mirrors, a single-DIN music system with two speakers and aux connectivity and a multi information display. Nissan Evalia is expected to take the monthly sales figure of the Japanese car maker to a next level which is currently riding high on the success of Nissan Sunny sedan which accounts for a huge chunk on the monthly sales. Nissan Micra hatchback is also doing good, however not as good as Sunny, but it is also contributing its bit towards the monthly sales.
Nissan Evalia is a huge launch fir the company, the MPV segment is gaining popularity in India with a fast pace and Nissan has taken the right move by launching a MPV in the domestic car market. India is the second fastest growing auto industry in the world and gaining a high market share here would mean that not only will the company"s rank improve here but globally also it will take a huge leap. Nissan Evalia is a capacious MPV that can comfortably seat adults inside the cabin also can store ample luggage in the boot area. Nissan Evalia is a five door vehicle out of which two are sliding doors which is proffered for the first time in a MPV and is not present in any of the rival MPV present in the Indian car market.
The MPV is going to compete the likes of Maruti Ertiga compact MPV, Mahindra Xylo MPV and Toyota Innova. Maruti Erttiga comact MPV has been successful in carving a niche for itself in the MPV segment and has also been able to attenuate Toyota Innova"s sales which has ruled the segment for a long long time now. The price difference between Ertiga diesel basic variant and Evalia diesel ibase model is more than a lakh, but features that come standard in Evalia XE are not proffered in Ertiga diesel base version.
Since Maruti Ertiga is also available in petrol variant therefore the price difference seems huge, but Evalia is only proffered in the diesel version, therefore actually the price difference in both is a tad more than a lakh. On the other hand the other rival of the MPV which is also performing well in monthly numbers is Mahindra"s Xylo MPV which starts at Rs 7.5 lakhs (ex-showroom price), the price difference between Nissan Evalia and Mahindra Xylo MPVis a little less than 1 lakh. Toyota Innova which is also a strong contender, is available at a starting price of Rs 9.94 laksh (ex-showroom price) which means that Nissan Evalia is cheaper by 1.45 lakhs which is a huge difference.
Maruti Ertiga might be less in price but when it comes to space and features, Nissan Evalia scores high. But Toyota Innova is also spacious and features wise it proffers much features in the base model, then too Maruti Ertiga managed to topple the MPV which ruled the MPV segment for years. We hope that this does not happen with Ertiga as it is placed between Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova, therefore it should get the benefit of being priced between these popular MPVs. If Evalia does well in the domestic market, it is going to be another star vehicle added in the portfolio of Nissan Motors India which will also reflect in the monthky sales numbers of the company.
